Work approach
DVCN assumes that development strategies are effective when they are based on scientific evidence and cultural relevance to the communities.
- We reinforce public policies because, when backed by an adequate public investment and multisectoral responsibility, they provide systematic and coherent action to improve life for those most in need.
- We strengthen the capacities of organizations and individuals at the local level because these institutions are the entities that make policies effective and propel advancement towards social equity.
- We promote and facilitate interchange and collaboration at the local, national and international levels as a way to share experiences and resources, and also to mobilize collective action around common problems, thus contributing to economic and social well-being.
Equity, gender equality, the promotion and defense of human rights, and social participation constitute the cross-sectional values in our work.
Team DVCN works in a decentralized manner with an office in Washington D.C. (USA) and Focal Points with complementary competencies in Argentina, Dominican Republic, Panama, and Peru.
